HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09132011 - C.54RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Agricultural Commissioner, or his designee, to execute Agreement #11-0083-SA with the Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) in an amount not to exceed $2,525.00 to perform enforcement activities related to the California Organic Foods Act, for the period of July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012, as recommended by the Agricultural Commissioner. FISCAL IMPACT: This agreement reimburses the County for expenditures incurred July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012 not to exceed $2,525.00. BACKGROUND: The County Department of Agriculture enforces a variety of laws and regulations regarding the production and sale of agriculturally grown products. Agreement #11-0083-SS provides reimbursement of costs incurred in the enforcement of the California Organic Foods Act (Chapter 10 of Division 17). Those functions of enforcement include registrations and amendments, spot inspections, soil and tissue sampling, and complaint investigations.
