HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09132011 - C.44RECOMMENDATION(S): ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 20986 abolishing the classifications of Director of Community Development-Exempt (5AA1) and Director of Building Inspections-Exempt (FAA1) in the Department of Conservation and Development. FISCAL IMPACT: No fiscal impact. No positions within the two classifications are currently authorized and allocated by the Board of Supervisors. BACKGROUND: In 2008, the Community Development and Building Inspection departments merged to become the Department of Conservation and Development. The merger required a restructuring of positions and classifications within the new department. This included the establishment of the Director of Conservation and Development-Exempt and Deputy Director of Conservation and Development-Exempt classifications. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) On January 13, 2009, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution No. 20660, which, among other things, canceled one Director of Community Development-Exempt position (Agenda Item C.18), but did not abolish the classification. The classifications above are no longer in use by county departments and have been replaced by the establishment of the Director of Conservation and Development-Exempt and the Deputy Director of Conservation and Development-Exempt in 2008; therefore, the County Administrator is recommending that both classifications be abolished. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The two classifications will remain active although obsolete. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: No impact. ATTACHMENTS P300 No. 20986 Class Abolishments
