Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf
of the County, Contract #26-350-10 with Merritt, Hawkins and Associates, a Corporation,
in an amount not to exceed $300,000, to provide recruitment of family practice physicians at
Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Health Centers, for the period from July 1, 2011
through June 30, 2012.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I.
BACKGROUND:
Under Contract #26-350-10, the Contractor will provide recruitment of family practice
physicians for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Health Centers due to on-going
vacancies, for the period from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012. Contractor’s services
shall include, but not limited to, advertising, screening and providing reference materials for
potential candidates.

If this contract is not approved, Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Health Centers
will continue to have a shortage of Family Practice Physicians available to provide services
