Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department,
to execute a Purchase Order with St. Jude Medical S.C., Inc. to add $250,000 for a new total
of $349,000 for cardiac pacemakers and heart values for patients at Contra Costa Regional
Medical Center and Health Centers, for the period from June 1, 2011 through May 31,
2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% Enterprise Fund I.
BACKGROUND:
The Health Services Department purchases cardiac pacemakers, heart values and related
items from St. Jude Medical S.C., Inc. St. Jude is a contracted member of our group
purchasing organization, novation, ensuring that we are receiving the most competitive
price for the goods and supplies being ordered.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this purchase order is not approved, patients requiring these medical products at Contra
