HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 08162011 - C.39RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #74–054–15 with Community Health for Asian Americans, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $212,795, to provide youth, family, and community drug abuse prevention services, for the period from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012. This Contract includes a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2012, in an amount not to exceed $106,397. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 28% by Federal Primary Prevention, 38% by Substance Abuse Primary Treatment Block Grant Youth Set-Aside, and 34% by State Comprehensive Drug Court Implementation Grant and Administrative Office of the Court funding. On August 3, 2010, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #74 054 14 Community Health for Asian Americans for the period from July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011, for the provision of youth, family, and community drug abuse prevention services in West Contra Costa County. Approval of Contract #74–054–15 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2012. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, County’s addicted youth will not receive the specialized treatment services that they need and may be at risk for incarceration. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This program supports the following Board of Supervisors’ community outcomes: “Children Ready For and Succeeding in School”; “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing”; and “Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families”. Expected program outcomes include an increase in positive social and emotional development as measured by the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS).
