ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 20969 to add three (3) Sheriff’s Ranger
(64WR) (represented) full-time positions at salary level VN5 1017 ($2,924.72 - $3,555.02)
in the Custody Services Bureau/Office of the Sheriff.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost of approximately $250,081; and is
100% funded by Employment and Human Services Department contract.
BACKGROUND:
The Employment and Human Services Department contracts with the Office of the Sheriff,
to provide security services for designated facilities. The Office of the Sheriff provides
Sheriff’s Rangers and Sheriff’s Deputies to meet the demands of the contract. Three (3)
Public Safety Officers will be retiring in the near future and it is the intention of the Office
of the Sheriff to replace the Public Safety Officers with three (3) Sheriff’s Rangers, per the
contract agreement, in order to have a smooth transition of personnel when the Public Safety
Officers retire.
