Subject:APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Chair, Board of Supervisors, to execute a Grant Deed to convey real
property to the City of Antioch, Antioch area.
Protection District of Contra Costa County, accepted the Property
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
with the terms and conditions as set forth in Resolution No. 89/12 under Board Order l.23
dated April 4, 1989. The Riverview Fire District was dissolved in 1994 and is now part of
the Fire District.
The Riverview Fire District used the Property as Fire Station 88. The Fire District in
1996, constructed and opened a new facility for Fire Station 88. When Fire Station 88
vacated their original site, the Fire Prevention Bureau used the Property until they
vacated it in January 2011.
The Fire District is no longer using the Property. One of the conditions of Resolution
89/12 is that the Property reverts to the City, should the Fire District no longer use the
Property as a fire station. Since the Fire District has not used the Property for over 30
days, title now needs to be transferred back to the City. Also under Resolution 89/12 and
Board Order l.23 when the Property reverts to the City, the City is responsible for selling
the Property. The net proceeds of the sale will be deposited into the Antioch Fire
Prevention Facilities Fees fund to be used by the Fire District.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If the property did not revert to the City, the Fire District and City would be in violation
of the terms and conditions of Resolution 89/12 and Board Order l.23.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
Not applicable.
