HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 08092011 - C.19RECOMMENDATION(S): ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 20970 to add one (1) Criminalist I (6DWB) (represented) position at salary level VN5 1688 ($5,683.57 - $6,266.13) in the Forensic Division of the Office of the Sheriff. FISCAL IMPACT: Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost of approximately $172,071; and will be 100% funded by the Remote Access Network (RAN) Board. BACKGROUND: The Cal-ID is a network of independent Automated Fingerprint Identification Systems and dedicated Department of Justice connected workstations throughout the State. Vehicle fees, criminal penalty assessments for Automated Fingerprint Identification Systems (AFIS) and other functions, and billing local agencies for their share of the Cal-ID operational costs governed by the Remote Access Network (RAN) Board which oversees the funding for the Cal-ID network. In an effort to improve services, the RAN Board has granted the Office of the Sheriff funding for one additional Criminalist position to support the identification and latent print functions of the department.
