ADOPT Ordinance No. 2011-14 to Exempt from the Merit System the classification of
Director of Patient Financial Services in Health Services.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no cost associated with the action to exempt classification.
BACKGROUND:
The Director of Patient Financial Services will have the maximum responsiveness for the
administration of Health Services patient financial services division, and will report directly
to the Chief Financial Officer/Chief Operating Officer of the Health Services. Director will
have administrative oversight of the Health Services Patient Financial Counseling, Patient
Accounting, Patient Registration operations in order to manage, budget, maximize Federal,
State, and private insurance cash reimbursements and revenue collections. Director's
responsibilities include the development and implementation of policies and procedures to
ensure compliance with Federal, State and private insurance patient billing regulations, and
revenue collection services. County Counsel has amended the Ordinance 33.-5.313 as
required for exempting this classification, pending Board approval.
