HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 08092011 - C.02RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Public Works Department, to execute an increase to purchase order number 33685 with Valley Slurry Seal, in the amount of $117,174.88 to purchase PMCRS-2H, PMARE and excess spread time for the 2011 Surface Treatment Program (Project No.'s 0672-6U2165, 0672-6U2166, 0672-6U2167, 0672-6U2168). This is a one-year extension option of the purchase order, Countywide. (100% Local Road Funds) FISCAL IMPACT: There is no impact to the County General Fund. The total cost of the PO (i.e., $479,889.88) for the 2011 Surface Treatment Program will be funded by 100% Local Road Funds. BACKGROUND: The placement of chip seal to resurface County roads is a long-established preventative maintenance practice. A chip seal increases the asphalt pavement life by an extra 7 to 10 years before another surface treatment is needed. This purchase order is to supply asphaltic emulsion spread for the 2011 Surface Treatment Program. This is a one-year extension option of the purchase order.
