SUBJECT: Resolution of Intention to Change the Names of ACME STREET (Rd. #8075D) , RUBY
STREET (Rd. #8075C) , HOME STREET (Rd. #8075A) , CYPRESS ROAD (Rd. #81749 #8271A &
#82718) , and BOLTON ROAD (Rd. #8277A) in the Oakley/Brentwood area .
Whereas the Public Works Director received a request from the Community Development
Department to initiate action to change the names of five roads in the Oakley/Brentwood
area in Supervisorial District V. The proposed name changes are required in conjunction
with the street addressing system recently implemented by the Community Development
Department in the Oakley/Brentwood area .
WHEREAS it is the intention of this Board of Supervisors to officially change the names of
Acme Street, Home Street, Ruby Street, Cypress Road and Bolton Road in Supervisorial
District V;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT Resolved that the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors is
requested to cause the following notice to be posted pursuant to Section
970 . 5 of the California SBH Code :
NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County,
State of California, adopted resolution of Intention to change the name of the
following:
EXISTING ROAD NAME ROAD SEGMENT PROPOSED ROAD NAME
Acme Street From Norcross Lane to O'Hara Ave. West Acne Street
From O'Hara Avenue to Third St. East Acme Street
Bolton Road From Wallen Lane to Highway 4 West Bolton Road
*From Highway 4 to 600 east of East Bolton Road
Highway 4
Cypress Road From Empire Avenue to Highway 4 West Cypress Road
**From Highway 4 to Sandmound Blvd. East Cypress Road
Home Street From Norcross Lane to O'Hara Ave. West Home Street
From O'Hara Avenue to Fifth St. East Home Street
Ruby Street From Norcross Lane to O'Hara Ave. West Ruby Street
From O'Hara Avenue to Fifth St. East Ruby Street
* this segment of Bolton Road is privately maintained.
** The segment of Cypress Road between Bethel Island Road and Sandmound Boulevard is
privately maintained.
(The Public Works Director, at the request of the Community Development Department
recommends that the names of all five roads be changed as stated above .)
NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN THAT A HEARING ON SAID RESOLUTION OF intention has been
fixed for January 13, 1987 , at 10:30 a .m . in the Chambers of the Board of Supervisors ,
Administration Building, Martinez , California , at which time and place the Board will
consider the proposal in said resolution of intention and any objections thereto.
