HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10291985 - X.2 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on - October 29'. 1985_9 by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Powers , Schroder , McPeak , Torlakson, Fanden NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None -------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------- SUBJECT: Training and Equipment Needs for First Responders in Toxic Material Emergencies Supervisor Tom Powers advised the Board that during a recent incident in Richmond in which three firefighters were exposed to suspected harmful toxic materials , it was brought to his attention that there is an inadequate level of training provided to first responders in emergency situations where suspected toxic materials are involved and that the proper equipment may not be available . As recommended by Supervisor Torlakson, IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that the issue of level of training and appropriate equip- ment for first responders in toxic material emergencies is REFERRED to the County Administrator for review and report to the Board on November 5 , 1985 . cc: County Administrator Emergency Medical Services Public Health Director Fire Chiefs 1 hereby certify that this is a true and correct copy of an action taken and entered on the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the date shown.
