During the first contract year, the Center for Human Development
has provided services which were instrumental in organizing the
members of the various communities; recruitment and training of
parents who presented drug prevention curriculum to grade school
.students; recruitment and training of high school students who
presented drug prevention curriculum to seventh graders; as well
as providing resources for materials, referrals to treatment pro-
grams, and conducting peer support groups.
The State is in the process of altering the Grant Awards for these
programs to the State's fiscal calendar period, which is the
reason for an eleven (11) month contract period. This is reflected
in the contract with the Center for Human Development.
