Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf
of the County, Novation Contract #29–335–24 with the City of El Cerrito, a government
agency, to provide congregate meal services for County’s Senior Nutrition Program, for the
period from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012. This Contract includes a three-month
automatic extension through September 30, 2012.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Agency will pay County the net project income received from participants, after adjustment
for allowable costs. No County revenue is expected. No County funds are required.
BACKGROUND:
This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing an average of 38
meals per day, five days per week, for senior citizens in El Cerrito.
On September 14, 2010, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #29–335–23
with the City of El Cerrito for the period

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
from July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011, which included a three-month automatic
extension through September 30, 2011, for the provision of congregate meal services for
County’s Senior Nutrition Program.
Approval of Novation Contract #29–335–24 replaces the automatic extension under the
prior Contract and allows Agency to continue providing services through June 30, 2012.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, County’s senior citizens will not receive meals from this
Agency.
