HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 08022011 - C.21RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Novation Contract #28–541–18 with the City of Richmond, for its Recreation and Parks Department, a government agency, to provide congregate meal services for County’s Senior Nutrition Program, for the period from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012. This Contract includes a three-month automatic extension through September 30, 2012. FISCAL IMPACT: Agency will pay County the voluntary contributions it receives from participating seniors, after it has paid its authorized expenses. No County revenue is expected. No County funds are required. BACKGROUND: This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing an average of 55 congregate meals per day, five days per week for senior citizens at its Congregate Senior Nutrition site in Richmond. Approval of Novation Contract #28–541–18 replaces the automatic extension under the prior Contract and allows Agency to continue providing services through June 30, 2012. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, County’s senior citizens will not receive meals from this Agency. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not Applicable
