HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07262011 - C.75RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent to execute, on behalf of the Sheriff-Coroner, a purchase order with John Deere Company in an amount not to exceed $13,388 to purchase a 2011 John Deere Gator for the Emergency Services Division. FISCAL IMPACT: $13,388. FY 2011/12 Budgeted. This purchase is 100% funded by restricted Off Highway Vehicle Fees. BACKGROUND: The purchase of the 2011 John Deere Gator will allow the Emergency Services Support Unit to enhance public safety by expanding the current off-road capabilities of the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff Off Highway Vehicle Enforcement Program. It will also have a significant secondary benefit as an asset usable by the Search and Rescue Team and other Sheriff's field activities as well as a mutual aid asset available on a regional and statewide basis.
