Subject:Contract #74–199–10 with Contra Costa Association for Retarded Citizens
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
intensive mental health support is intended to reduce out of home placements and the need
for restrictive or specialized educational settings in kindergarten.
On June 15, 2010, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #74–199–9 with Contra
Costa Association for Retarded Citizens for the period from July 1, 2010 through June 30,
2011, for the provision of wrap-around, day treatment, and mental health services for high
risk, delayed, or emotionally disturbed children at the Lynn Center.
Approval of Contract #74–199–10 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services
through June 30, 2012.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, Medi-Cal eligible SED youth in Contra Costa County will
have fewer opportunities to receive needed wraparound treatment, and may require
treatment at higher levels of service.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
This program supports the following Board of Supervisors’ community outcomes:
“Children Ready For and Succeeding in School”; “Families that are Safe, Stable, and
Nurturing”; and “Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for
Children and Families”. Expected program outcomes include an increase in positive social
and emotional development as measured by the Child and Adolescent Functional
Assessment Scale (CAFAS).
