FISCAL IMPACT: 100% Enterprise Fund I. BACKGROUND: In addition to the existing beds, Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Health Centers (CCRMC) rents specialty beds periodically throughout the year. It is less expensive to rent these beds, which cost between $60,000 and $100,000 each, than it would be to purchase them outright. Owning the beds would require CCRMC to (1) clean the beds before and after each use and (2) store the beds off campus, and transport them to and from CCRMC when they are needed. CCRMC would also need to remove the standard bed and store off campus until the specialty bed was no longer needed. The vendor, KCI, Inc. is a member of our novation Group Purchasing organization and as such, extends us the lowest price APPROVE OTHER RECOMMENDATION OF CNTY ADMINISTRATOR RECOMMENDATION OF BOARD COMMITTEE Action of Board On: 07/26/2011 APPROVED AS RECOMMENDED OTHER Clerks Notes: VOTE OF SUPERVISORS AYE:John Gioia, District I Supervisor Gayle B.
