Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf
of the County, Novation Contract #28–540–16 with the City of Antioch — Community
Development Department, a public agency, to pay County an amount not to exceed $29,214,
to provide congregate meal services for County’s Senior Nutrition Program, for the period
from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012. This Contract includes a three-month automatic
extension through September 30, 2012, in an amount not to exceed $7,304.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No County funds required. City funds and donations from recepients.
BACKGROUND:
This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing an average of 100
congregate meals per day, five days per week for senior citizens at the Antioch Senior
Center.
On June 15, 2010, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #28-540-15, with the City of
Antioch — Leisure Services Department for the period

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011 for the provision of congregate meal services.
Approval of Contract #28-540-16 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide
congregate meal services through June 30, 2012.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, senior citizens who depend on County’s Senior Nutrition
Program will not receive meals at Contractor’s facility.
