ADOPT Resolution No. 20963, to add three (3) permanent-intermittent Ultrasound
Technologist II (V8TB) (represented) positions at salary level QT5 1846 ($6,646-$8,078)
and one (1) part time 32/40 Ultrasound Technologist II (V8TB) (represented) position at
salary level QT5 1846 ($6,646-$8,078) in the Health Services Department.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost of $283,161.39 and will be
completely offset by the elimination of temporary positions and a reduction in overtime and
on-call costs. This action will result in no net County cost.
BACKGROUND:
The Health Services Department is requesting the addition of these positions in order for the
Diagnostic Imaging Unit to retain a pool of employees that can be utilized on an intermittent
basis to backfill for vacations, sick leave, and staffing shortages instead of utilizing long
term temporary employees as per the recommendation of the Blue Ribbon Committee.
The Department has evaluated the duties assigned to these positions and this is the

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this action is not approved, the Diagnostic Imaging Unit will not be able to effectively
provide diagnostic imaging services to the patients/clients of the Contra Costa Regional
Medical Center and associated Health Centers.
