Kleps Award for Improvement in Administration of the Courts, as recommended by Supervisor Uilkema. FISCAL IMPACT: No fiscal impact. BACKGROUND: Established in 2008, the Elder Court of the Superior Court of California, Contra Costa County ensures swift protections for victim's of physical and financial abuse, while also addressing their mental, physical or emotional frailty. It also considers the victim's need or desire to maintain a relationship with their abusers who may be their children, grandchildren or caregivers. Created in 1991, the programs nominated for the Ralph N. Kleps Award must be innovative and transferable to other courts and have demonstrated results.
