HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07122011 - C.68RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Novation Contract #22–940–8 with Public Health Foundation Enterprises, Inc., dba PHFE Management Solutions, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $164,627, to provide coordination, supervision, and support to County’s Senior Nutrition Program, for the period from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012. This Contract includes a three-month automatic extension through September 30, 2012, in an amount not to exceed $41,157. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 69% Federal Title III C (1) of the Older Americans Act of 1965 and 31% by Federal Title III C (2) of the Older Americans Act of 1965, through the Employment and Human Services Department. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) and provides assistance in fundraising efforts in the private sector, to purchase meals for homebound elders through the Countywide Meals on Wheels program. On July 13, 2010, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #22–940–6 (as amended by Contract Amendment Agreement #22–940–7) with Public Health Foundation Enterprises, Inc. (dba PHFE Management Solutions), for the period from July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011, which included a three-month automatic extension through September 30, 2011, for coordination, supervision, and support to County’s Senior Nutrition Program. Approval of Novation Contract #22–940–8 replaces the automatic extension under the prior Contract and allows the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2012. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, County’s senior citizens who rely on the Senior Nutrition Program for meals will not receive those meals.
