APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Risk Manager to execute a contract with Essential
Staffing, Inc. for consulting services and workers' compensation staffing services for the
period from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012 in an amount not to exceed $533,338.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Costs for workers' compensation claims administration services are funded through the
Workers' Compensation Internal Service Funds.
BACKGROUND:
Essential Staffing, Inc. specializes in providing highly experienced workers' compensation
adjusters and clerical support. These services have resulted in a reduction of claim inventory
to industry standards and an excellent audit rating by California State Association of
Counties Excess Insurance Authority as well as increased confidence level to the internal
service fund. Essential Staffing also provides support to staff with medical restrictions and
vacation coverage.
