Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf
of the County, Novation Contract #28-556-16 with the City of Martinez, a government
agency, to pay County an amount not to exceed $11,600, to provide congregate meal
services for County’s Senior Nutrition Program, for the period from July 1, 2011 through
June 30, 2012. This Contract includes a three-month automatic extension through
September 30, 2012, in an amount not to exceed $2,900.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No County funds required.
BACKGROUND:
This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing an average of 30
congregate meals per day, five days per week for senior citizens at the its Martinez Senior
Citizens Center.
On June 15, 2010, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #28-556-15 with
the City of Martinez, for the period from July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011, which

Approval of Novation Contract #28–556–16 replaces the automatic extension under the
prior Contract and allows Agency to continue providing services through June 30, 2012.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, senior citizens who depend on County’s Senior Nutrition
Program will not receive meals at Contractor’s facility.
