Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee to execute on behalf of
the County, Contract #27-297-7 with East Bay Perinatal Center, a corporation, in an amount
not to exceed $700,000, to provide professional Maternal-Fetal Medicine services for the
Contra Costa Health Plan for the period from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan (Health Plan) member
premiums. Costs depend upon utilization. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
The Health Plan has an obligation to provide certain specialized professional health care
services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan
membership contracts with the County.
On July 21, 2009, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27-297-6 with East Bay
Perinatal Center, for the period from July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2011 to provide
professional Maternal-Fetal

Approval of Contract #27-297-7 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide
Maternal-Fetal Medicine services through June 30, 2013.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, certain specialized professional health care services for its
members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts
with the County will not be provided.
