Subject:2010/11 CA Dept. of Educ. Alternative Payment Childcare services revenue contract, Amend 2
BACKGROUND:
On June 22, 2010 the Board approved receipt of funds from California Department of
Education for childcare program services (Alternative Payment) to be provided by
Employment & Human Services Department, Community Services Bureau. The Board
approved an amendment on April 12, 2011 to accept updated Funding Terms & Conditions
with new information from the State regarding program eligibility requirements, admissions
policies, and fee schedule.
The State routinely amends these contract to reflect new information as the State budget is
settled and as the program calendar years are set. This amendment is to reduce the
minimum days of operation from 244 days to 242 days.
Approval of this revenue contract will provide support funds for alternative payment
childcare services to program eligible children and families.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If not approved, contract amendment will not be processed which may result in payment
delays for this revenue contract.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
The Employment & Human Services Department Community Services Bureau supports
three of Contra Costa County’s community outcomes - Outcome 1: “Children Ready for and
Succeeding in School,” Outcome 3: “Families that are Economically Self-sufficient,” and,
Outcome 4: “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing.” These outcomes are achieved
by offering comprehensive services, including high quality early childhood education,
nutrition, and health services to low-income children throughout Contra Costa County.
