Martinez, California 94553 ° Dear Honorable Board Members: The Service Area Committee has been working with Consultant David Gates and Associates the past several months to develop the Park, Open Space Conservation and Recreation Plan for the Alamo ccm ity. We are near completion of this task and have identified our highest priority site for park acquisition for Alamo. The site includes several parcels, which could be acquired over tine. It begins at la Gonda Way in Danville running north along the eastside of San Ramon Creek to the vicinity of an access easement across the creek opposite the intersection of La Serena and Danville Blvd. It is very important to have entry points and parking at both ends of this future linear park. In order to implement this important first park project in Alamo, the following specific priorities were identified by the Committee on September 11, 1985 by unanimous vote. 1. Magee Parcel 16.64 acres off La Gonda at Interstate 680 - Acquisition in cooperation with City of Danville. 2. Assessors Parcel 197-030-002 (Garcia) 2.00 acres fronting on Danville Blvd. opposite La Serena - Acquisition for park entrance, parking and access across creek. 3. Assessors Parcel 197-030-03 (Friddle) 5.00 acres fronting on Danville Blvd. opposite Ia Serena - Acquisition for park, park entrance, parking and access across creek. 4. If unsuccessful in Iskubers 2 and 3 above, then park entrance, parking and access across creek through development design of residential projects an parcels identified in $2 and #3 above. It is the Committee's understanding that development proposals are in*=ent for parcels 12 and 13 above. The Committee therefore requests the Board of Supervisors to authorize the Real Property Division.of Public Works to begin negotiations to acquire Parcel 197-030-02, #2 above, or in the alternative to include as a condition of development of these parcels the dedication of adequate parking and access to the riparia„ park system on the East side of the San Ramon Creek. - 2 - In addition, the Committee requests that the CcEm pity Development Department be made aware of R7A's Park Plan priorities in order to notify the Committee of any proposals for the aforementioned sites and in order to consider option priority '4 should it be necessary.
