ATTESTED: June 28, 2011 David Twa, County Administrator and Clerk of the Board of Supervisors By: June McHuen, Deputy cc: D. 3 To:Board of Supervisors From:Ruth Helot, Clerk of the Board Date:June 28, 2011 Contra Costa County Subject:Informal Update pending state/fed legislation CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: CLERK'S ADDENDUM County Administrator, Mr. David Twa, stated both houses of the state legislature are meeting this afternoon at 4:00 p.m. to vote upon the proposed budget. Assuming that the budget passes, the County does not need to make adjustments to its currently adopted budget. Mr. Twa noted that the states proposed budget includes an estimated $4 billion in new revenue, and if the new revenue fails to occur, it would initiate automatic triggers in the state budget in January 2012, affecting Health and Human Services. Mr. Twa further noted that experts do not believe the anticipated new revenue will materialize.
