HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06282011 - C.87RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #23-074-30 with Foley & Lardner, LLP, a Limited Liability Partnership, in an amount not to exceed $400,000, for the provision of temporary legal services with regard to Medi-Cal audit appeals and other Departmental Health Plan appeals, report issues, and authorized litigation issues, for the period from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded by 100% by Enterprise I funds included the Health Services Department's budget. There are no increases in the hourly rate of this Contract. On October 26, 2010, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #23-074-29 with Foley & Lardner, LLP, for the period from July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011. Approval of Contract #23-074-30 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide specialized legal services, as requested by the Health Services Director, through June 30, 2012, including approval of modifications to County’s standard Indemnification Clause and Insurance language, paragraphs 18, and 19 of the General Conditions. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, the County will not be able to receive specialized services with regard to Medi-Cal audit appeals and other Departmental Health Plan appeals, report issues, and authorized litigation issues.
