Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf
of the County, Contract #26-671-1 with Precyse Solutions, LLC, a limited liability
company, in an amount not to exceed $490,000 to provide temporary medical coding and a
certified Tumor Registrar services for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra
Costa Health Centers, for the period from June 1, 2011 through May 31, 2012.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (No increase in the rates).
BACKGROUND:
On August 3, 2010, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-671 with Precyse
Solutions, LLC to provide temporary medical coding services for Contra Costa Regional
Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers including, but not limited to coding of
approximately 13,000 inpatient discharges, scanning records and entry of codes into the
County’s software system, and providing a certified Tumor Registrar, for the period from
June 1, 2010 through May 31, 2011.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Approval of Contract #26-671-1 will allow the Contractor to continue providing coding
services, including a certified Tumor Registrar services, through May 31, 2012. This
contract includes modifications to the Standard General Conditions, Paragraph 5,
Cancellation, Paragraph 2. Dispute, Paragraph 18. Indemnification, and Paragraph 19,
Insurance of the special conditions.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, County will not be able to scan inpatient records nor code
discharges for patients at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center under this Contract.
