APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Department, or
designee, to execute a contract with FamiliesFirst, dba EMQ FamiliesFirst in an amount not
to exceed $509,495 to provide family preservation services for the period July 1, 2011
through June 30, 2012.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$509,495: 67% State Family Preservation (70% State, 30% County); 33% Federal
Promoting Safe and Stable Families (CFDA #93.556)
BACKGROUND:
Contractor was selected through competitive bid, Request for Proposal #1114, to provided
intensive family preservation services. Family preservation support services provides
ongoing case management services that engage and establish a positive rapport with
families who have been referred from existing Child Welfare cases who are experiencing
multiple stressors impacting their ability to parent effectively and who are consequently at
