HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06282011 - C.65RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the County Risk Manager to amend the contract with Skamser and Associates for consultation and technical assistance on the County's Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and FMLA for the period July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011 to correct the hourly fee to $63.63 per hour, as recommended by the Risk Manager. FISCAL IMPACT: None. All costs for consultation and technical assistance stay within the payment limit of the contract which is funded through the Workers' Compensation Internal Service Fund. BACKGROUND: Skamser & Associates provides assistance to County departments in developing essential functions for job descriptions; provides consultation on modification of policies affected by ADA and related law; trains staff on ADA related issues and hiring issues related to individuals with disabilities. Skamser & Associates locates assistive devices and order equipment and assists departments with program access issues. The contracted services provided by Skamser & Associates were calculated at $63.63 per hour. Due to a typographical error, the payment plan listed $56 per hour. The contract needs to be corrected to reflect the $63.63 amount. All charges for payment of services are within the payment limit of the contract. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Skamser & Associates would not be able to continue the services which ensure the County's compliance with ADAA laws. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: None.
