HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06282011 - C.50RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Agricultural Commissioner, or his designee to execute Agreement No. 11-0013 with the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) that will reimburse the County up to $769,905 for County costs for providing pest detection services from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012, as recommended by the Agricultural Commissioner/Director of Weights & Measures. FISCAL IMPACT: This contract provides reimbursement for County expenses incurred during this period for pest detection work performed on behalf of the California Department of Food and Agriculture in Contra Costa County. BACKGROUND: The County Department of Agriculture deploys traps countywide to detect incipient infestations of exotic pests such as Medfly, Gypsy Moth, Japanese Beetle, etc. The State reimburses the county for all costs that exceed our historic level of trapping.
