BACKGROUND: The Contra Costa County Mental Health Commission was established by order of the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors on June 22, 1993, pursuant to the Welfare & Institutions Code 5604, also known as the Bronzan-McCorquodale Act, Stats. 1992, c. 1374 (A.B. 14). Commissioners are appointed by members of the County Board of Supervisors from each of the five districts for a term of three years. Each district has a consumer of mental health services, family member and an at-large representative on the Commission, for a total of 15 members plus a representative from the Board of Supervisors. Carole McKindley-Alvarez has successfully served a term as the District 1 At Large Member on the Mental Health Commission and is interested in continuing her service. Her seat expires 6/30/2011. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The District One Member at Large Seat will become vacant. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: None.
