HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06212011 - C.103RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE the allocation of $107,000 from the CC Future Fund to be used by District IV to fund one 0.60 FTE for the period of July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2013, as recommended by Supervisor Mitchoff. FISCAL IMPACT: 100% CCFuture Fund - discretionary general purpose funds generated from the transient occupancy tax (TOT) from the Renaissance/Club Sport Hotel in the unincorporated Contra Costa Centre area, and designated by the Board of Supervisors to the CCFuture Fund. BACKGROUND: The CCFuture Fund was created in 2003 when the Board of Supervisors (Board) earmarked the transient occupancy tax (TOT) from the Renaissance/Club Sport Hotel in the unincorporated Contra Costa Centre area for early intervention and prevention programs that reduce high cost crisis/safety net services. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Without the additional CCFuture Funds, District IV will be unable to have a staff person dedicated to the Monument Community and will have to reduce the time spent addressing the needs of that community. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: CCFuture Fund supports all five of the Board of Supervisors’ community outcomes: (1) Children Ready for and Succeeding in School; (2) Children and Youth Healthy and Preparing for Productive Adulthood; (3) Families that are Economically Self Sufficient; (4) Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing; and (5) Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families.
