HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06212011 - C.60RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #74-425 with Delta 2000, a non-profit corporation, dba C. O. P. E. Family Support Center in an amount not to exceed $200,000, to provide Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) prevention and early intervention services for the period from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012. This Contract includes a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2012, in an amount not to exceed $100,000. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Proposition 63/MHSA. No County funds are required. BACKGROUND: This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing evidence-based Triple P – Positive Parenting Program, and Multi-Family Support Groups, to strengthen positive attachment between parents and children with age-appropriate parenting skills. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, parents and youth will not have access to the Triple - P program to build knowledge and parenting skills. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This MHSA-PEI program supports the following Board of Supervisors’ community outcomes: “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing”; and “Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families”. Expected program outcomes include increased parenting skills, increased sense of competence in parenting abilities, improved relationship communication about parenting, and reduced parenting stress.
