HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06212011 - C.58RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Donna Wigand) to execute on behalf of the County, Contract #24–680–22 with Telecare Corporation, a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $614,000, to provide mental health gero-psychiatric services and subacute care to severely and persistently mentally ill clients, for the period from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012. This Contract includes a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2012, in an amount not to exceed $307,000. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Mental Health Realignment. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population in that it provides gero-psychiatric services and subacute care for County residents who are severely and persistently mentally ill (SPMI) at Contractor’s Villa Fairmont Mental Health Center, Garfield Mental Health Center, Gladman Psychiatric Health Facility, and Morton Bakar Center. On July 13, 2010, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #24–680–21 with Telecare Corporation for the period from January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2010, which included a six-month automatic extension through June 30, 2011, for the provision of mental health gero-psychiatric services and subacute care for SPMI clients. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, County’s residents will not receive gero-psychiatric services and sub-acute care for severely and persistently mentally ill patients.
