The Board approved receipt of funding for 2011/12 on March 15, 2011. The Board approved amendment #1 on April 12, 2011 to increase the payment limit as the state routinely releases partial funding at contract onset to be followed by additional allocations as the program year progresses. A contract amendment was approved by the Board on May 3, 2011 to accept a new Exhibit B (Payment Provisions) to describe procedures for the County to obtain advance working capital for major purchases on behalf of the weatherization program. This amendment adds funds in the amount of $775,913 to the contract. Approval of this agreement will allow the continued provision of LIHEAP and weatherization services to program-eligible households in Contra Costa County. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If not approved, the Department will not receive funding to operate LIHEAP in Contra Costa County. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: The Employment & Human Services Department, Community Services Bureau energy program supports one Contra Costa County community outcome - Outcome #4: "Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing." This outcome is supported by the provision of home energy assistance to keep households warm in winter and to increase household energy efficiency.
