Agreement #28-528-42 with the County of Alameda, to pay County an amount not to exceed $1,593,990 for coordination of essential services to Contra Costa County residents with HIV Disease and their families, for the period from March 1, 2011 through February 29, 2012; and B. To purchase emergency medical transportation vouchers in the amount of $6,000 and emergency food cards in the amount of $2,000 for people living with HIV and AIDS. FISCAL IMPACT: Approval of this agreement will result in a total of $1,593,990 from the County of Alameda, as the Grantee of federal funds under the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Modernization Act of 2006, Part A and the purchase of transportation vouchers in the amount of $6,000 and emergency food cards in the amount of $2,000. No County match is required. On July 13, 2010, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #28-528-40 with the County of Alameda, as the fiscal agent for Ryan White CARE Act, Title I and Minority AIDS Initiative funds, for coordination of services to Contra Costa residents with HIV disease and their families, for the period from March 1, 2010 through February 28, 2011. Approval of Agreement #28–528–42 continues funding for these services through February 29, 2012, including mutual indemnification to hold harmless both parties for any claims arising out of the performance of this contract. Vouchers are purchased from established vendors and distributed to eligible individuals following established procedures. Purchase of the vouchers is approved by local and regional planning bodies and is allowable under federal law. The program anticipates purchasing 200 Safeway food vouchers at $10 each for a total of $2,000 plus transportation vouchers from varying vendors ranging from $1.00 to $30.00 in a total not to exceed $6,000. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, County will not receive funds to provide coordination of essential services to Contra Costa County residents with HIV Disease and their families.
