APPROVE Appropriations and Revenue Adjustment No. 5039 authorizing new revenue in
the amount of $164,000 from the Office of Homeland Security, 2009 Homeland Security
Grant and appropriating it for homeland security related equipment.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This action increases revenue and appropriations by $164,000. There is no change in net
County cost.
BACKGROUND:
The 2009 Homeland Security Grant provides the Contra Costa County Operational Area
$164,000. All projects and expenditures funded by the 2009 Homeland Security Grant were
selected based on an assessment of Operational Area needs by first responders within the
County, including law enforcement, the fire service, and health disciplines. The
Anti-Terrorism Approval Body (Approval Authority) gives approval for all expenditures
funded by Homeland Security Grants. The California Office of Homeland Security
designated the Approval Authority for the Contra Costa County Operational Area and it
includes the following positions: County Public Health Director; County Fire
