HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06212011 - C.24RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE Appropriations and Revenue Adjustment No. 5046 authorizing revenue in the amount of $444,000 from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security 2008 Urban Area Security Initiative grant funds and appropriating it for communications interoperability management. FISCAL IMPACT: This action increases revenue and appropriations by $444,000. There is no change in net County cost. BACKGROUND: Urban Area Security Initiative Grant Program (UASI) funds address the unique planning, equipment, training, and exercise needs of high threat, high density urban areas, and assist them in building an enhanced and sustainable capacity to prevent, protect against, respond to, and recover from acts of terrorism. California is home to five of these urban areas and the Department of Homeland Security designated the City and County of San Francisco as the fiscal agent for the Bay Area UASI.
