Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee to execute on behalf of
the County, Contract #27-264-7 with East Bay Nephrology Medical Group, Inc., a
corporation, in an amount not to exceed $120,000, to provide professional
nephrology/internal medicine services for the Contra Costa Health Plan for the period from
May 1, 2011 through April 30, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan (Health Plan) member
premiums. Costs depend upon utilization. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
The Health Plan has an obligation to provide certain specialized professional health care
services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan
membership contracts with the County. In July 2009, the County Administrator approved
and the Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #27-264-6 with East Bay
Nephrology Medical Group, Inc., for the period May 1, 2009 through April 30, 2011 to
provide professional nephrology/internal medicine

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, certain specialized professional health care services for its
members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts
with the County will not be provided.
