Approve and authorize the Health Services Director or his designee, to execute, on behalf of
the County, Contract #26-883-19 with Rodney J. Chan, DPM., a self-employed individual,
in an amount not to exceed $293,000, for the provision of professional podiatry services for
patients at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the
period from June 1, 2011 through May 31, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% Enterprise Fund I. Costs depend upon utilization. As appropriate, patients and/or
third-party payors will be billed for services. Rates have changed from monthly
reimbursement to fee per clinic and surgery.
BACKGROUND:
On May 15, 2009, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-883-17 (as amended by
Amendment Agreement #26-883-18) with Rodney J. Chan, DPM. to provide podiatry
services including consultation, training, on-call, medical and/or surgical procedures, and
clinic coverage, for patients at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa
Health, for the period from

If this contract is not approved, patients requiring these medical services at Contra Costa
Regional Medical and Contra Costa Health Centers would go untreated.
