Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf
of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #24–979–21 with Addiction Research and
Treatment, Inc., dba Bay Area Addiction Research and Treatment, a corporation, effective
July 1, 2010, to amend Contract #24–979–20, to increase the payment limit by $40,619,
from $2,765,119 to a new payment limit of $2,805,738, with no change in the original term
of July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This amendment is funded 62% by Federal Drug Medi-Cal, and 38% by State Drug
Medi-Cal. No County Funds are required. (Rate increases)
BACKGROUND:
On September 21, 2010, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #24–979–20 with
Addiction Research and Treatment, Inc., dba Bay Area Addiction Research and Treatment
Project for the period from July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011, for the provision of
methadone treatment services through its Methadone Maintenance Clinics Program
(Medi-Cal Drug Abuse Treatment

The California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs (ADP) has since revised the rates
for DMC services for fiscal year 2010 – 2011.
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #24–979–21 will modify the rate schedule to
reflect ADP-authorized rates, through June 30, 2011.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this amendment is not approved, Contractor will not receive an increase to modify rate
schedule.
