HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05172011 - C.30RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #24–429–51 with Ujima Family Recovery Services, a non-profit corporation, effective July 1, 2010, to amend Contract #24–429–49 (as amended by Contract Amendment Agreement #24–429–50), to increase the payment limit by $3,099, from $1,696,964 to a new payment limit of $1,700,063, with no change in the original term of July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011. FISCAL IMPACT: This amendment is funded 83% by Federal Perinatal Set-Aside and Medi-Cal, 5% by State Substance Abuse/Mental Health Services for CalWORKs (SAMHWorks) and California Emergency Management Agency – Justice Assistance Grant Offender Treatment Program (CAL EMA JAG-OTP), and 12% by Drug Medi-Cal. The California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs (ADP), has since revised the authorized rates for DMC services for fiscal year 2010 – 2011. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #24–429–51 will modify the rate schedule to reflect ADP-authorized rates, through June 30, 2011. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, Contractor will not receive an increase to modify rate schedule. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This Alcohol and Drug Abuse program supports the Board of Supervisors’ “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing” community outcome by providing parenting education, stability, and safety for mothers (and their children) and pregnant women who are alcohol and drug dependent, while they are in substance abuse treatment. Expected outcomes include delivery of drug-free babies, decreased use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, reduction in the number of relapses, and creation of a sober social network.
