APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Department, or
designee, to execute a contract amendment with STAND! Against Domestic Violence to
increase the payment limit by $57,965 to a new payment limit of $289,825 for domestic
violence support services to California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids
(CalWORKs) participants and extend the contract term from June 30, 2011 to September
30, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$289,825: 72% CalWORKs Single Allocation; 28% Contribution from Zero Tolerance
BACKGROUND:
STAND! Against Domestic Violence provides a wide array of domestic violence services
tailored to meet the specific needs of the Workforce Services Bureau. Services include
CalWORKs domestic violence liaisons at four Employment and Human Services
Department (EHSD) offices, technical assistance, consultation, and domestic

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
violence identification and skills training; on-site capacity building and linkages for
domestic violence victims to community resources.
This amendment extends the contract term to September 30, 2011 to allow for competitive
bidding process.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
There will be an interruption in domestic violence services while competitive bidding
process is being completed.
