HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05172011 - C.19RECOMMENDATION(S): ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 20917 to add two (2) Health Plan Authorization Representative (VRTA) (represented) full time positions at salary level 3RX 1119 ($3,227-$4,121) in the Health Services Department. FISCAL IMPACT: Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost of approximately $167,153 that includes pension costs of $33,035, and will be funded with additional member premiums, and the elimination of two temporary employees. BACKGROUND: The requested positions will be replacing temporary employees in Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) Division. One of the requested positions will be assigned to the Utilization Management unit to address workload issues due to increased referrals for specialty services. This position will be responsible for reviewing and processing specialty authorizations. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) the increased workload from new SPD (Seniors and Persons with Disabilities) Medi-Cal members. The health plan expects additional 800 - 1000 new members per month, many of whom will need to be contacted by the pharmacy to discuss prescriptions that are not covered under CCHP's formulary or CCHP Network Pharmacy. This position will be required to contact both the member and their provider and bring them into compliance with CCHP Formulary and/or Network. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this action is not approved, services to CCHP members may be adversely impacted. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable. ATTACHMENTS P-300 #20917
