(County File #MS050037) and HEARING on the recommendation of the Planning Commission to approve the Coronado
Village Commercial Shopping Center preliminary and final development plan (County File #DP053073)and rezoning to
Planned Unit District (P-1) from Retail-Business (P-1) (County File #RZ053166) in the Bethel Island area. (Aruna Bhat,

District boundaries, including a report on the master schedule of public workshops from May 16 though May 26; and
confirming which of two map versions of the Contra Costa Times redistricting map proposal should be included among the
concept maps for upcoming public workshops. (Catherine Kutsuris, Conservation & Development Director)

ACCEPTED status report on follow-up activities following the Board’s consideration, on May 3, 2011, of a
report from the Director of Conservation and Development on the 2011 Redistricting for Contra Costa County
Supervisorial District boundaries, including a report on the master schedule of public workshops from May 16
though May 26;
ACCEPTED a revised schedule of public workshops to include an additional workshop to be held in the City of
Clayton;
CONFIRMED the Contra Costa Times concept modified map as the version of the Contra Costa Times
redistricting map proposal to be included among the concept maps for upcoming public workshops;
DIRECTED the A-2 redistricting map proposal submitted at the May 3rd Board meeting by Contra Costa
Citizens Redistricting Task Force be included;
DIRECTED staff to create a map reflecting no divisions of cities, of cities as "whole".

District to continue its effort for a sustainable Creek and Channel Safety Awareness Program; and REFER item to the
Transportation, Water and Infrastructure Committee for further development, as recommended by the Public Works
Director/Chief Engineer, Countywide. (100% Flood Control Zone 3B Funds)
Speakers: Peter Hendricks, resident of Walnut Creek, spoke on retrofitting existing Walnut Creek channel structures to
prevent drownings.
ACCEPTED the following status report from the Public Works Department and the Contra Costa County Flood Control
and Water Conservation District (FC District) on the Creek and Channel Safety Awareness Program; and
DIRECTED the Public Works Department and the FC District to continue its outreach, development, and
implementation of a sustainable Creek and Channel Safety Awareness Program (CCSAP); and
REFERRED this effort to develop a CCSAP to the Transportation, Water, and Infrastructure Committee (TWIC); and
REFERRED the materials supplied by Peter Hendricks to Public Works and the Transportation, Water, and
Infrastructure Committee (TWIC); and
DIRECTED the Public Works Department and the FC District to report to the TWIC upon completion of data
assimilation and report back to the Board upon development of implementation recommendations by October of this year.

Persons who wish to speak on matters set for PUBLIC HEARINGS will be heard when the Chair calls for comments from those
persons who are in support thereof or in opposition thereto. After persons have spoken, the hearing is closed and the matter is subject to
discussion and action by the Board. Comments on matters listed on the agenda or otherwise within the purview of the Board of
Supervisors can be submitted to the office of the Clerk of the Board via mail: Board of Supervisors, 651 Pine Street Room 106,

The County will provide reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities planning to attend Board meetings who contact the
