HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05102011 - C.51RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent to execute a purchase order, on behalf of the Chief Information Officer, with Teltronics Inc. in an amount not to exceed $181,000 for parts to support an Internet Exchange Processor IXP Network upgrade. FISCAL IMPACT: The cost of $181,000 is budgeted under FY 2010/2011 and charged back to user departments through the DOIT billing process. BACKGROUND: The Department of Information Technology Telecom Department is in the process of replacing many of the aging digital PRI Interface Modules that are installed in many of the County Wide Telephone Systems (PBXes). In addition, Telecom is in the process of upgrading to Digital ATT Primary Rate Interface (PRI) voice line service. In accordance with Administrative Bulletin No 611.0, County Departments are required to get Board approval for single item purchases over $100,000. The County Administrator’s Office has reviewed this request and recommends approval. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The Department of Information Technology will not be able to perform the required equipment upgrade. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: No Impact
