HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05102011 - C.45RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Department Director, or designee, to issue Request for Proposal (RFP) No. 1125 in an amount not to exceed $150,990 to provide supportive services to limited English proficient (LEP) California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) participants for the period 2011 through 2012. FISCAL IMPACT: $150,990: 100% CalWORKs Single Allocation (85% Federal, 15% State) BACKGROUND: This RFP will solicit proposals from community-based and faith-based organizations to provide CalWORKs Welfare-to-Work services including, but not limited to, job club, job search, assessment, job retention, and supportive services to limited English proficient (LEP) CalWORKs participants. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Services under this RFP supports three community outcomes identified in the Contra Costa Children's Report Card: (3) "Families that are Economically Self-Sufficient;" (4) Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing;" and (5) "Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families" by assisting program participants to obtain and maintain non-subsidized employment.
